Trained shooters faced off at a distance of fifteen feet and, after surprise start signal, fired two rounds of reasonably accurate and painful .38 caliber marking cartridges at each other. Three scenarios:

We were astonished at how much difference moving and seeking cover made. Each shooter had practiced shooting on the move and hitting a moving target—but not at the same time.
Most of the hits when using cover occurred when shooters broke cover to retreat. Proper use of cover almost eliminated the chance of being hit.
